Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers are currently negotiating a new collective bargaining agreement. A postal service disruption could delay mail delivery of Alectra Utilities bills, as well as any payments mailed to Alectra Utilities.
In the event of a postal service disruption, we want to ensure you are aware of other ways to access your bill and stay up-to-date with your account.
Get your account balance and bill
To ensure an accurate payment, you can check your account balance one of these ways:
My Alectra: With the My Alectra online customer portal you can view your bill, and monitor your account balance and due dates at your convenience. Register and log in to My Alectra to:
- View your account balance and due date on the dashboard;
- Go to Billing > My Current Bill to view your bill summary;
- Download and save your bills in PDF format.
By Email: Sign up for paperless billing to receive a monthly email and/or text notification when your bill is ready to view securely online.
- Opt in to paperless billing when you register for My Alectra; or log in and go to Account > Account Information, and click Enrol under Paperless Billing.
- Go to Account > Notification Preferences to add up to two email addresses and two mobile phone numbers at which to receive ebill notifications.
By Phone: Call us at 1-833-253-2872 and press “2” for self-serve options
- Press “1” and enter your 10-digit account number, and then your street number as prompted.
Payment options available to you
Alectra Utilities offers the following convenient payment options:
- Pre-authorized payments: Log in to My Alectra and go to Billing > Pre-Authorized Payments to register. Monthly payments will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account on your due date.
- Pay at your bank or financial institution: Online, by telephone, or in-person.
- Pay by credit card: 1.49% service fee will apply. You may also log in to My Alectra and go to Billing > Pay My Bill to add a credit card to your profile.
Overdue payments will still incur late fees, so we encourage you to use these alternatives. Once a payment is made, your remaining balance will be reflected in your account within 48-72 hours, depending on when your financial institution or credit card provider clears your payment.
During the Canada Post service disruption, it is important that you stay informed of your account balance and make your bill payments on time to prevent late payment charges. Thank you for your co-operation, patience and assistance.
