Regarding the recent outages in York and Peel Regions, we apologize for the inconvenience and want to assure customers we’re working hard to resolve the situation.

The issue is related to the salt and other de-icing products used on roads in response to the cold and snowy weather we’ve been having. Airborne particles get caked onto and can cause problems for overhead distribution lines, especially as the weather warms up.

We’re working 24/7 to clean electrical poles and line hardware to help prevent further outages, but there is a risk of more issues over the next few days. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this issue as quickly as we can.

As part of this work, the My Alectra portal will be unavailable Monday, February 23, 2026 from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. During this time, you will not be able to log in to My Alectra to access your account information or submit online service requests.

  • To report a power outage, call us at 1-833-253-2872 (Option 1) or use our online chat. Our System Control and Outage Call Centre are on duty 24/7 to respond to your report.
