OEB's Centralized Capacity Information Map

Thank you for using Alectricity Insights. The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) has launched the Centralized Capacity Information Map (CCIM) – a tool designed to provide transparent, accessible information about electrical grid capacity across Ontario for both load connections and Distributed Energy Resource (DER) connections.

For more information, please visit the OEB’s CCIM web page.

Important disclaimers:

  • System data (quarterly; not real-time): The information provided to the OEB for the CCIM reflects the most recent quarterly analysis and does not represent real-time system conditions.
  • Support: Alectra supplies information to the OEB for inclusion in the CCIM but does not provide support for using the tool. Please contact the OEB for assistance.
  • Informational use only: CCIM information is provided “as is” to support informed decision-making. It is not legal, engineering, or professional advice.
  • Formal process still required: Use of the CCIM does not replace Alectra’s formal connection process. All parties must follow the procedures outlined on Alectra’s Make a Service Request web page.
  • Preliminary information: Capacity information is indicative only and should not be treated as a definitive basis to proceed with a project. It should also not be the primary factor in deciding whether to submit an application.
