COMING SOON: Make online banking payments to Alectra Utilities

Do you use online banking to pay your bills? Soon you will be able to select Alectra Utilities as the payee instead of PowerStream when setting up your online banking payments. No action is required if you are already enrolled for online payments, as the payee name will automatically be updated to Alectra Utilities. Our Customer Service team is available to assist you with any questions you may have. Contact us at 1-833-253-2872.

  • Instant statement notification by email
  • Easy to access, track, and store

To sign up for paperless ebilling:

  1. Log in to your account at AlectraUtilities.com/MyAccountLogin.
  2. Go to “My Profile” and click on the ebilling tab.
  3. Say “Yes” to ebilling.

Not registered for My Account? Simply click the “Sign-up” tab on the login page and follow the steps to register for Alectra’s online portal and paperless ebilling.

How much energy are you using? When you log in to My Account at AlectraUtilities.com/MyAccountLogin, you can view your hourly, daily, and monthly electricity usage patterns. Review these charts to help see where you can conserve more to save on energy costs.

Tree trimming helps to prevent power interruptions

Alectra Utilities works to keep trees away from our primary power lines along public roadways. It’s the customer’s responsibility to ensure trees on their private property are maintained around power lines coming from the road to their home or business. This is a dangerous task that requires specific planning and expertise to perform safely.

If you require tree trimming on your property near power lines:

  • Hire a professional utility arborist; and
  • Contact Alectra Customer Care at 1-833-253-2872 to temporarily disconnect the electrical supply to your property prior to performing the work.

Ontario’s System-Wide Electricity Supply Mix: 2018 Data

The system-wide supply mix is the combination of power sources that are used to generate the electricity consumed in Ontario. The table on the right discloses the system-wide electricity supply mix data for 2018, which was published by the Ontario Energy Board on June 28, 2019.

* Includes Lennox Generating Station, dual fuel (natural gas/ bioenergy) consistent with the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO).

** IESO’s embedded generation data set merges biomass and gas.

*** Non-Contracted represents a variety of fuel types that the IESO is unable to categorize due to a lack of information from Local Distribution Companies (LDCs).

High call volumes due to Canada Post strike

Due to higher than normal call volumes, Customer Service wait times are longer than usual. For faster service, we recommend using My Alectra to get your account balance and due date.

Why use My Alectra?

  • Access your account information 24/7
  • View your account balance, payment history, and bills
  • Sign up for ebilling to avoid missing payments and late charges

How to sign up for ebilling:

  1. Opt in to paperless billing when you register for My Alectra. You'll need your account number, name as it appears on your bill, and the phone number associated with your account. Contact Customer Care at 1-833-ALECTRA (1-833-253-2872) if you need assistance.
  2. Already registered? Log in to My Alectra. Go to Account > Account Information, and click Enrol under Paperless Billing.

You'll receive an email notification when your next bill is ready to view securely online.

Quick Tip: Get your account balance quickly and easily:

Use our self-serve options when you call 1-833-ALECTRA. Simply press 2, then 1, and follow the prompts to enter your account number and street number. No need to wait on hold. You'll hear the amount and date of your last payment, the current bill amount, and the due date. If you made a payment today, your balance will be updated within 48-72 hours.

Follow these steps to log in to My Alectra:

  1. Recover your username: Click the "forgot username" link on the My Alectra login page and enter the email address you used to register. You'll receive an email from NoReply@AlectraUtilities.com with instructions.
  2. Reset your password: Click the "forgot password" link on the My Alectra login page and enter the username you received in Step 1. You'll receive an email with instructions to reset your password. Use your username and new password to log in.
