Call before you dig
If you plan to do any work that requires digging, have a FREE locate done by Ontario One Call.
Although you can't see them, there are just as many, if not more, electrical cables and gas lines running below ground level, as there are above.
Hitting a cable with a power shovel, excavator or auger can result in serious damage, liability, severe injury, or even death. As the contractor doing the digging, you're responsible for getting a cable and/or gas line locate for your jobs. Make sure workers on the site are trained properly and are aware of these potential hazards.
Be sure to leave enough time so that any infrastructure is marked and you can dig safely.

Simply provide the details of your project and Ontario One Call will notify the utilities with underground facilities in your area. If there are any buried cabling or wires on your property, they will be clearly marked before you proceed to dig. With the exception of emergency situations, please allow at least one week in the timing of your project to complete this process.
Ontario One Call is a non-profit organization, supported by Alectra Utilities and other utilities, that help homeowners and businesses easily locate any underground services.
