Matt Harris has proudly served the Niagara Community for over 25 years. As a two-term City of St. Catharines Councillor and Deputy Mayor, Matt has ensured the needs of the residents are met in his ward and across the City. Since 2010, Matt has served as a Director on St. Catharines Hydro Generation Inc. and St. Catharines Hydro Holding Company and is the current Chair of both organizations.
Matt is currently leading fundraising initiatives as a Major Gifts Officer for Hotel Dieu Shaver Health & Rehabilitation Centre. Previously Matt was the General Manager of Sundawn Integrated Services (1997), a premier leader in the HVAC industry, where he was responsible for the company's business development, community initiatives, and overall day-to-day operations.
With a background in social services, Matt has worked and volunteered with various social service agencies throughout St. Catharines and the Niagara Region and has served on many Boards that support mental health issues, affordable housing, and healthcare initiatives. Matt was Chair of the Niagara Health System Foundation that led the $40million campaign to build the St. Catharines Site of the NHS and the amalgamation of 6 local hospital foundations to one entity.
Matt was previously awarded the ‘40 under 40’ Business Achievement Award and YWCA’s Champion Award. Matt participates in a variety of community events and fundraisers, raising thousands of dollars to support the needs of the community.
